This week, friends, we have pretty much died and gone to Prairie Underground heaven. The shipment that just came is packed with amazing pieces from the new Winter/Holiday collection, which is of course big on new takes on their signature organic cotton styles, but also really impresses with festive and luscious fabrics, bold and sexy statements, and cozy urban wear that’s really meant to get it done.
A few of my personal favorites:
Rimbaud Coat - A smart jacket made from French terry and soft quilted satin. I love the sophisticated look of the upturned collar – it gives any outfit a boost, from jeans to skirts or thrown over a comfy shirt dress!
Sweat It Out - Goodbye humble legging! This well-thought cozy organic cotton spandex jersey pant features stretch rib cotton at the waist and ankles. I love how they look bunched and scrunched under boots or over ballet flats.
Videodrome - Once in a while Prairie puts out a piece that just begs to be rocked, and this is one of them. This sexy-comfy dress pays homage to the best body-hugging looks of ‘80s London and combines them with the modesty and sensibility of organic cotton. The zip front is pure fun and the side pockets are the icing on the cake.
Western Rib Dress - I’ve seen so many customers fall in love with this fall’s Western Rib shirt—it’s a wearable, soft and cozy take on the classic oxford and I’m so glad Prairie has taken the concept to the next level by making it into a dress. It’s wear-to-bed comfortable but sharp enough for work and flatters everyone!
Charlie Jean - A great way to wear the wide-leg pant trend. The welt patch pockets are the perfect detail and these look so fantastic with a tucked-in blouse we can hardly get over it!
